My First Post

Well it's 2 days before Christmas and finally I thought I should do my first post. I wasn't sure on were to begin but thought I should start somewhere. I love to decorate prim style and some colonial with alittle farmhouse added in. I love anything old and rusty as I wish some of the stuff I have collected over time could tell me a story. I have been blessed by neighbor's, family, friends and even strangers to pass on antiques to me that I love. My first large purchase was my 2 old farm tables that I found at a yardsale 2 summer's ago. The long one that seats 8 and another small one that I have had someone build me a hutch on the top to keep in my kitchen to display all my collections as I don't have much counter space. So I guess I will begin with showing you around my house. Now please forgive me as my camera is old and I need a new one badly, why didn't I think to add that to my christmas list??? Maybe next year, I wanted a fireplace so badly to insert to my new fire place mantle that my DH built for me this fall out of old barn board from my gramps.

So this is a picture of my farm harvest table. My friend and I this past fall decided I should turn my 4 season's sunroom into my diningroom since I don't have one and my upstairs livingroom and diningroom are attached. I love the change and it's so much bigger for family gatherings!

Here is a little sitting space that I created for when you come in the back door. I just need to add a bench that is waiting to be painted. It's a nice place to sit when the ground is covered with snow and the fire place is going. I like to sit out here and read while the kids are out playing in the snow. Warm and cozy!

This is my farm table that I found at a yard sale for $20, I couldn't believe it. I told them to put sold on it. I brought it to my father in law's to store in the barn until I could sell my other diningroom set. My husband took one look at it and said "That's junk, why did you buy it and no that is not going in our house." Needless to say he thinks I did a great job refinishing it and likes that we have alot more room to sit at our table now. And he even let me go and find some farm harvest chairs to go with it. This is my best find so far!!!

And thanks to Dan over at Yesterday Once More for the great centre piece idea, now I can leave my centre piece on the table for Christmas Day while we eat. I hate when I have a nice centre piece and have to remove it to sit at the table.

Well I am off as I have just spent over an hour on here and still have some house to clean, errands to run before the stores get to hectic. Yeah right they have been crazy for the past month who am I kidding! LOL! I am hosting Christmas Day again this and I love to do it! Then the kids get to play and have fun with their new toys from Santa!

Thanks for checking my home out and I will be back with some more home photo's to show you.

Merry Christmas to all and enjoy time with Family and Friends!
