Summer time at The Hoskins' Homestead

Well it's the 3rd week of July already and thinking only 1 week left is kind of crazy but I love the month of August and knowing that my favorite season is just around the corner makes me smile!
This year was a year of firsts for us at the Homestead, 1st year for having bunnies in our family, 1st year for a garden, 1st year to try canning pickles and salsa, 1st year to have wheat in the field behind us and 1st year that I was able to grow flowers from seeds and have fresh cut flowers out of my garden for in the house!

Looking forward to expanding the garden next year since this year has been such a success & trying out more canning. Hoping next year we'll be able to expand our little domestic farm by adding some laying hens!!

More Pictures from around the Homestead

I finished up taking my pictures of the yard. I have enjoyed this summer already because things are coming up so well and my yard has finally come to a finish. Now it's time to sit back & enjoy the hard work that my hubby & I have done around our home!

Thanks for stopping by!

It's been a long time........................

Well I never thought I would put my blog on the back burner but I have and I think its time to get back on the blogging bus & start sharing what I love to do! Things have been busy with life and the kids well they just keep growing.

We have added lots of new things to the yard plus changed things! If your a prim addict like me you'll understand that change is always occurring around our homes! I have discussed with my hubby that the flower beds are now complete in our yard and that there will be no more added. It's a lot of work for us and I usually spend May & June getting them all cleaned but it's what I love doing after a long cold snowy winter!

Today marks the first day of summer so with that I thought I would post some pictures from around our yard. I still have many more to take and will do that this week and add them at a later date (later not meaning 2 years from now!) but soon.

Enjoy your tour! There are many more to come!

This weather is crazy.........................................

This weather has got to be some of the strangest weather I've experienced. Last week was so hot you couldn't stand to be outside, now today is so beautiful you don't want to be inside. When I woke up this morning it was only 60 degrees out and actually kind of teased me that it could be fall.

I am a huge fall lover and can't wait for the season to come. I know, I know don't rush the summer while to be honest if it stays like this then I'll be ok with it hanging around a little longer but if the humidity comes back then I won't be upset to say bye bye to it.

I am trying to post a little more but for some reason I don't feel like I have much to post about anymore and seeing that not many people are using blogger I feel like what's the point. But I am going to continue on with posting when I can and if people read it then great if not then at least I can look back at it!!!

So with this I will leave you with some beautiful fall pics

Wishing you all a great rest of the summer and to stay cool if the humidity comes back!!! Hopefully the next time I post with be some fall decor!!!

Have a  good one!

Wow its been along time......................

Wow I can't believe I haven't posted since March. I feel horrible for not even posting any garden or fall photos. I have been busy in a new job & just didn't feel like I had much to say or post about let alone not much time like I used to have. Like most people my poor blog went on the back burner.

Well now I am back & have a ton of christmas decor to show you all. I completed all my decor inside & out just shortly after rememberance day. Outside just got wrapped up on Tuesday night which I am so happy I took the time to do it b/c now it's cold with snow flying through the air.

Grab a cup of something warm & take a peek at my christmas decorating. Please forgive me my photography isn't that great and I haven't even edited anything because once again that would take way to much time for me to do them all so they are just kind of snapped quickly so I could post.

Well I am hoping you enjoyed some of my christmas decor. I hopefully will get on to post some bedroom re-do's soon as well. And of course I need to get some outdoor decor photo's for ya!!! Hope you all have a wonderful evening & weekend!!!

Take Care
